Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day regulatory and control activities within the compliance function.
• Assist with monitoring and testing programmes and document results.
• Prepare and maintain compliance reports, MI and trackers.
• Review and update compliance policies, procedures and supporting documentation.
• Support handling of regulatory queries, attestations and certifications.
• Assist with onboarding checks, due diligence and client/counterparty reviews.
• Log, track and follow up on compliance issues, breaches and remediation actions.
• Respond to queries from business teams and escalate as needed.
• Support audit and regulatory review requests with evidence gathering.
• Contribute to wider compliance projects and process improvements.

About the role

Our client is looking for a Compliance Support professional to join their compliance function on an interim basis, helping the team meet its regulatory obligations and maintain strong control standards across day-to-day operations.

The successful candidate will provide practical support to compliance officers and wider business teams, assisting with monitoring, testing, reporting and the maintenance of policies and procedures. The role requires someone who can handle a steady flow of varied tasks, keep accurate records and communicate clearly with colleagues at different levels.

This is a position for a compliance professional who is organised, attentive to detail and comfortable working within a regulated environment. Main responsibilities

• Support the compliance team with day-to-day regulatory and control activities

• Help review, update and maintain compliance policies, procedures and supporting documentation
• Support the handling of regulatory queries, attestations and certifications
• Assist with onboarding checks, due diligence and related client or counterparty reviews where required

• Respond to queries from business teams and escalating matters to senior colleagues as appropriate
• Support audit and regulatory review requests by gathering and organising evidence
• Contribute to wider compliance projects and process improvements

Requirements

Essential

• Previous experience in a compliance, risk, regulatory or control support role within financial services
• Working knowledge of UK financial services regulation and the role of the FCA and PRA
• Strong attention to detail and accurate record keeping
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage competing priorities and work to deadlines
• Competence with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word

Desirable

• Experience within an investment banking or wider capital markets environment
• Familiarity with compliance monitoring, surveillance or KYC and AML processes
• A relevant compliance or regulatory qualification, or progress towards one
• Experience supporting audit or regulatory reviews
