Multiverse apprenticeships are designed for people of any age and career stage and focus on building critical AI, data, and tech skills. Multiverse learners have driven $2bn+ ROI for their employers, using the skills they’ve learned to improve productivity and measurable performance.

In June 2022, Multiverse announced a $220 million Series D funding round co-led by StepStone Group, Lightspeed Venture Partners and General Catalyst. With a post-money valuation of $1.7bn, the round makes the company the UK’s first EdTech unicorn.

But we aren’t stopping there. With a strong operational footprint and 800+ employees globally, we have ambitious plans to continue scaling. We’re building a world where tech skills unlock people’s potential and output. Join Multiverse and power our mission to provide equitable access to economic opportunity, for everyone.

The Opportunity

As our HESA Compliance Specialist, you’ll play a vital role in delivering our statutory higher education reporting, taking ownership of all HESA returns and driving high standards in data accuracy, regulatory compliance, and strategic insight. You’ll collaborate with external regulatory bodies, Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), and internal teams to uphold data integrity—while also helping shape how we scale responsibly as we expand globally. If you're detail-driven, thrive in fast-moving environments, and want your work to contribute to meaningful social impact, we’d love to hear from you.

What you’ll do:

  • Drive timely, high-quality submissions by partnering with our Compliance Operations Manager to deliver all Higher Education (HE) returns—like Data Futures, Provider Profile, and Graduate Outcomes—in line with regulatory standards.
  • Take full ownership of our HESA reporting cycle, leading the process from start to finish and ensuring seamless execution and compliance.
  • Champion data integrity by auditing and validating submissions, applying internal quality controls, and making sure everything aligns with HESA’s data rules.
  • Track and influence progress on regulatory actions—monitoring how we’re addressing requirements from HESA and the Office for Students (OfS).
  • Be our external voice by developing trusted relationships with key stakeholders like HESA, student record system providers, and other HEIs—sharing learnings, aligning on timelines, and supporting knowledge transfer.
  • Lead the way on student record systems, particularly supporting the implementation of UNIT-E. You’ll help guide the rollout across the business, drive ongoing efficiencies, and continuously review effectiveness to support smart, scalable change.
  • Share your expertise in student record systems, advising colleagues and supporting users across the organisation as we embed new ways of working.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with our Data & Insights team to ensure data accuracy and consistency across all reporting.
  • Lend your skills to other areas of compliance too—supporting tasks related to our apprenticeship provision as needed.
  • Play a key role in change management, helping steer critical projects that align with our growth and compliance ambitions—ensuring changes land well across teams and systems.

About you:

  • Knowledge of HE administration (HESA, HE data sets) and reporting requirements
  • Experience working within a systems-related role within a HEI or similar environment. Desirable to have a working knowledge of using Unit-E or similar.
  • Proven project management experience
  • Hold strong IT skills, including data analysis and report writing, enabling you to drive informed decision-making.
  • An understanding of the business issues affecting a HEI, including its responsibilities under the Freedom of Information and Data Protection Legislation
  • Desirable to possess knowledge of Apprenticeships and funded learning regulations.
  • Demonstratable strong communication skills with proven experience in building effective stakeholder relationships at all levels.
  • Ability to hold cross-functional stakeholders to account on improvement projects
  • Forward planning, usually to meet known short to medium-term deadlines. This role will involve frequent interaction with others, where initiative to resolve problems and queries will be required.
  • Strong eye for detail in data

Benefits

  • Time off - 27 days holiday, plus 5 additional days off: 1 life event day, 2 volunteer days, 2 company-wide wellbeing days (M-Powered Weekend) and 8 bank holidays per year
  • Health & Wellness- private medical Insurance with Bupa, a medical cashback scheme, life insurance, gym membership & wellness resources through Wellhub and access to Spill - all in one mental health support
  • Hybrid & remote work offering - with weekly or monthly visits to the London office and the opportunity to work abroad 45 days a year
  • Team fun - weekly socials, company wide events and office snacks!
