Our client is a London based, Real Estate Investment Manager, who we've partnered with as they look to bring in an experienced Compliance specialist on a contract basis to support the Head of Compliance in designing and embedding a highly effective compliance programme and framework across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

Assess the current control environment across all key business processes (investment management, asset management, fund operations, finance, investor reporting, etc.).
Design and document an enhanced Controls Framework that aligns with regulatory requirements (e.g., FCA, AIFMD) and industry best practice.
Work closely with business leaders to map processes, identify control points, and ensure appropriate ownership and accountability.
Draft and implement control standards, policies, and procedures.
Collaborate with Risk and Compliance teams to ensure the framework supports the broader enterprise risk management program.
Support the business in preparing for internal audits, regulatory reviews, and due diligence by investors.
Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation where appropriate.

Skills and Experience Required

Minimum 3+ years experience in building and embedding controls frameworks within asset management, real estate investment, or broader financial services.
Strong understanding of the operational and compliance risks faced by a fund manager.
Familiarity with regulatory requirements (FCA Handbook, AIFMD, SEC rules) and best practice frameworks (COSO, ISO31000, etc.).
Track record of delivering practical, fit-for-purpose solutions in a dynamic, commercial environment.
Excellent project management, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.

This contract is expected to last between 3-6 months and would be paying £350-500 per day, inside IR35.
