About the role

The role is in the Compliance function at Creditspring and reporting to the Head of Compliance. The role will have a strong focus on financial crime including AML and fraud, andrequires a strong understanding of regulatory requirements, risk mitigation strategies, and operational controls to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and best practices.

The Compliance Specialist will also work with other parts of the business to promote a customer centric culture, provide advice on relevant regulations and provide assurance to the business by supporting the delivery the annual compliance monitoring plan.

Responsibilities

The core duties and responsibilities of this role include the following:

  • Support the KYC/CDD processes, assisting with due diligence reviews and escalation of high-risk cases.
  • Conduct real-time monitoring and review of transactions to identify suspicious activity and high-risk customers.
  • Provide guidance to frontline teams on financial crime and fraud risks, ensuring adherence to AML and fraud prevention policies.
  • Develop and implement preventative controls, ensuring operational teams adhere to compliance frameworks.
  • Assist in training and awareness programs for employees on financial crime risks and regulatory expectations.
  • Perform risk assessments on financial crime and fraud exposure, recommending improvements to frameworks and controls.
  • Conduct investigations into allegations of fraud
  • Support the procurement process and supplier onboarding with financial crime and sanctions screening of third party’s
  • Review internal SARs and escalate where appropriate to the Head of Compliance
  • Support delivery of the Compliance Monitoring Plan – to review and report on key business processes ensuring that they comply with regulatory guidelines and deliver good customer outcomes.
  • Monitor key conduct MI for signs of issues and provide advice to the business on any necessary changes to deliver improved customer outcomes.
  • Complete and submit regulatory reporting, work with the business to ensure data is captured and supplied as required within the specified period.
  • Support other teams across the business with compliance and regulatory advice and guidance. Ensure that the Compliance team is viewed positively and as such is asked for assistance where appropriate.

What you'll need to succeedEssential:

  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience across compliance, financial crime and AML in financial services
  • Strong knowledge of UK financial crime regulations including MLRs, POCA and JMLSG
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence operational teams

Desirable:

  • Consumer credit experience
  • Experience in a fintech or similarly fast paced environment
  • Working knowledge of the FCA guidelines and regulatory requirements including CONC, DISP, SYSC, PRIN, Consumer Duty and SMCR
  • Relevant professional certifications (e.g., ICA, ACAMS, or similar) preferred
