Compliance Consultant - Energy Sector (London, UK)

We are seeking a highly motivated Compliance Consultant to join our client’s regulatory and compliance team within the energy sector. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the organization meets all internal policies, industry regulations, and legal requirements, particularly relating to energy trading, environmental compliance, and operational integrity.

Location: London, UK (onsite)

Contract: 6 months with possible extension

Position Overview:

1. The Contractor supports the Compliance Team in ensuring XYZ Energy Inc’s marketing and trading activities comply with applicable Anti Bribery and Corruption (ABC) and Economic Sanctions (ES) regulations, including the FCPA, UK Bribery Act, US OFAC sanctions, and EU policies.
2. Monitor compliance with internal processes developed by Legal and Compliance Departments.

Knowledge:

• Experience with KYC and Due Diligence (DD) processes and related legislation (UK Bribery Act, US FCPA). Knowledge of ABAC compliance practices is a plus.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure ABAC and Economic Sanctions compliance.
• Conduct Due Diligence checks on counterparties, suppliers, and agents.
• Support Senior Analysts in KYC approval processes.
• Stay updated on new compliance risks related to ABAC and ES regulations.
• Collaborate to develop proactive compliance approaches.

Education and Certifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent required.

Experience:

• 1-2 years’ experience in ABAC/KYC compliance preferred.

Skills:

• Knowledge of natural gas, LNG markets, ABAC, and KYC processes preferred.
• Demonstrate integrity, decisiveness, and good judgment.
• Ability to manage workload independently and in a team.
• Strong communication skills and eagerness to learn.
