Job summary

Jobtailor in Greater London is seeking a Finance Analyst to support council services with purchasing and receipting processes, resolve complex queries across financial systems, and produce timely reports.

You will prepare statutory reports with the Compliance and Reporting Manager, analyse performance data to identify trends, suggest service improvements, and contribute to year-end activities while updating policies or user guides as needed.

Qualifications

• Solid knowledge of income and payment processes, ideally within a large organisation.
• Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail.
• Ability to convert raw data and findings into persuasive, evidence-based arguments.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to build effective relationships across finance and non-finance teams.
• Ability to update policies or user guides.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and exercise judgment.
• Willingness to work from the office 3 days a week.

Responsibilities
