Job Description:

Oliver James is partnering with a leading London Market Insurer to expand their compliance team. The company operates across Lloyds & General insurance markets, with a strong reputation.

This role offers an opportunity to join as a Compliance Officer in the Assurance/Monitoring team, reporting to the Head of Compliance Monitoring. The role involves supporting the Compliance Assurance Plan, conducting reviews, monitoring activities, and reporting findings.

  • Support the delivery of the Compliance Assurance Plan, including thematic reviews and control testing.
  • Conduct compliance monitoring to assess control effectiveness and regulatory adherence.
  • Produce reports and present findings to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with compliance, audit, and business teams to ensure follow-up actions are completed.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience with compliance monitoring and assurance reviews in regulated financial services (insurance/Lloyd's preferred).
  • Knowledge of regulatory frameworks (FCA, PRA, Lloyd's, SMCR, Consumer Duty).
  • Ability to write clear reports and communicate findings effectively.
  • Confidence working independently on reviews and tracking actions.
  • Strong relationship-building skills across different business areas.
  • Analytical mindset, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
