Job Description:

Compliance Officer role, key information:

  • Permanent role paying up to £60k + bonus
  • 3 days in 2 from home
  • You will need a solid understanding of the regulatory framework, particularly SMCR and ICOBS, and their application within the business.
  • You will need a working knowledge of compliance monitoring.

Key responsibilities:

  • Conduct monitoring in line with the compliance monitoring plan
  • Escalate major issues and/or highlight trends to the Compliance Manager or Head of Compliance
  • Implement best practice strategies and gain knowledge of office-specific business activities
  • Contribute to the development of the Compliance function’s strategy
  • Drive forward the development of Management Information and Business Insights
  • Consider the impact of any concerns or changes from regulators, the insurance market, or European Commission
  • Horizon scanning and identifying emerging regulatory issues
  • Ensure robust procedures to mitigate regulatory risk
  • Responsible for regulatory submissions via Connect, Gabriel, and other FCA notifications
  • Record breaches and complaints, maintain records, and implement lessons learned and corrective actions

Person requirements:

  • Understanding of the regulatory framework, particularly SMCR and ICOBS
  • Knowledge of compliance monitoring
  • Ability to identify opportunities for efficiency and develop internal controls
  • Experience from a compliance role
