Overview

We are seeking an experienced Compliance Manager to lead and manage all aspects of compliance within our Rail division, reporting into our Senior HSQE Manager. The successful candidate will act as the Responsible Person for Compliance, ensuring that all operations meet legislative requirements and industry best practices.

Responsibilities

Compliance & Auditing and Training

  • Manage and ensure compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 45001, ISO 14001 certifications, SSIP memberships, and RISQS requirements under Network Rail standards.
  • Carry out internal process audits and coordinate third-party audits with accreditation bodies.
  • Lead annual reviews of the Quality Management System (QMS), Safety Management System (SMS), Environmental Management System (EMS), and all associated documentation, risk assessments, RAMS, COSHH, and manual handling assessments.
  • Manage pre-qualification checks and conduct annual audits of subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Monitor, report, and oversee waste transfer procedures and environmental incident reporting.
  • Developing and designing, implementing, and enforcing comprehensive compliance policies and procedures. This includes creating a compliance program tailored to the organisation\'s specific needs and the regulatory environment it operates in, leading training programs to educate employees on compliance requirements, ethical standards, and legal obligations. A key goal is to foster a company-wide culture of compliance
  • Preparing detailed reports on compliance activities, risks, and audit outcomes for senior management and stakeholders. They also lead investigations into any potential compliance breaches or violations.
  • Staying up-to-date on changes in laws and industry regulations/standards and acting as the liaison between the organization and external regulatory bodies.
Operational Support & Documentation
  • Act as divisional document controller, maintaining controlled forms and registers.
  • Manage monthly data trackers, site inspection findings, vehicle inspections, and non-conformance analysis, providing regular reports to Head Office.
  • Assist with PQQ management and tender submissions from a HSQE perspective.
  • Maintain and review annual Business Continuity Plans for contract-specific operations.
