Compliance Manager - Private Markets

Meraki Talent is working with a leading investment management business to help identify a Compliance Manager – Private Markets.

The Compliance Manager will be part of the Compliance Advisory team and a wider Compliance team, providing high-quality compliance advisory support primarily within Private Markets.

The role involves proactively advising, challenging, reviewing, training, and supporting the business to understand its regulatory responsibilities and ensure compliance, thereby delivering excellent conduct risk mitigation and maximizing business benefits.

Key responsibilities include:

• Providing commercially focused compliance advisory support to the business regarding one or more asset classes or business areas; proactively advising, challenging, reviewing, training, and supporting to ensure understanding of regulatory responsibilities and compliance, with a focus on conduct risk mitigation and business benefits.
• Monitoring and analyzing emerging regulations to support stakeholders in understanding their impacts and planning necessary changes to maintain compliance.
• Focusing activities on delivering risk-based conduct risk and compliance value, while proactively identifying additional areas for business benefit.
• Developing strong relationships with stakeholders within the relevant asset class or business area, utilizing communication skills and expertise to achieve outcomes and perform value-added activities operationally and commercially.

We are looking for:

• Experience in direct investment management across asset classes with a good understanding of the end-to-end investment process.
• Knowledge of global regulations such as AIFMD and MIFID, and understanding of compliance and conduct risk within investment management. Ability to analyze emerging regulations and assess impacts.
• Familiarity with investment financial promotions review and approval processes.
• Excellent interpersonal, report writing, and verbal communication skills, capable of engaging with senior stakeholders and conveying technical conduct risk topics clearly and concisely.
