Job Description:

Meraki Talent is working with a leading investment management business to help them identify a Compliance Manager – Private Markets.

The Compliance Manager will work as part of the Compliance Advisory team and a wider Compliance team to provide high-quality compliance advisory support within Private Markets.

The role involves proactively advising, challenging, reviewing, training, and supporting the business to understand its regulatory responsibilities and to comply with regulation, thereby delivering conduct risk mitigation and business benefits.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Providing compliance advisory support to the business regarding asset classes or business areas, ensuring understanding of regulatory responsibilities and compliance, and delivering conduct risk mitigation.
  2. Monitoring and analyzing emerging regulation to support stakeholders in understanding impacts and implementing necessary changes to stay compliant.
  3. Focusing activities to deliver risk-based conduct risk and compliance value, while proactively identifying additional beneficial areas of activity.
  4. Building strong relationships with stakeholders within responsible asset classes or business areas, utilizing communication skills to achieve outcomes and perform value-added activities.

Candidate requirements:

  1. Experience with direct investment management across asset classes and a good understanding of the investment process.
  2. Knowledge of global regulation and compliance within investment management, including AIFMD and MIFID, with the ability to analyze emerging regulation impacts.
  3. Experience with investment financial promotions review and approval.
  4. Excellent interpersonal, report writing, and verbal communication skills, capable of engaging with senior stakeholders and explaining technical conduct risk topics clearly.
