Job description

We have the opportunity for a Compliance Manager – Oversight and Assurance to join our Compliance department at Tokio Marine Kiln. Reporting to the Head of Compliance, you will be responsible for delivering TMK Compliance Oversight and Assurance activities and developing the annual Compliance Oversight & Assurance Monitoring Plan focusing on key compliance risks.

The role includes:

  1. Delivering the annual Compliance Oversight and Assurance Monitoring Plan and managing resources to fulfill the compliance plan.
  2. Reporting key findings from business transaction data on compliance controls and breaches to the Head of Compliance.
  3. Innovatively collecting, designing, and preparing reports/MI on Compliance Oversight & Assurance performance and findings for committees, boards, external stakeholders, and others.
  4. Providing monthly reports to the Head of Compliance and quarterly reports to the Executive Committee and RCCC.
  5. Managing special investigations and ad hoc oversight activities as required.
  6. Identifying, reporting, recording, analyzing, and escalating incidents and breaches, including root cause analysis.
  7. Tracking outcomes from thematic and ad-hoc reviews to completion.
  8. Managing the Compliance O&A Framework and reviewing process documents annually.
  9. Staying informed of changes in the regulatory environment (UK and abroad) to ensure the Oversight & Assurance framework reflects best practices.
  10. Aligning assurance work with business development and strategy to ensure regulatory compliance.
  11. Supporting the Head of Compliance by providing challenge and acting as a sounding board.
  12. Providing rigorous oversight activities that offer clear assurance to management and the Boards.
  13. Promoting a Speak Up/Listen Up culture and fostering a psychologically safe environment to reduce risk and benefit the business and customers.

We seek someone with extensive compliance experience in roles related to Compliance, Audit, Risk, or Regulation, preferably within the London insurance market, holding professional qualifications at degree level or higher. Knowledge of insurance industry matters such as sanctions, AML, fraud, Lloyd’s licenses, and anti-competitive behavior is highly desirable.
