THE COMPANY:
Our client is an international banking group, offering a wide range of products and services including savings, loans, mortgages, and insurance.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Implement the Bank’s Compliance Monitoring framework, processes, and procedures in line with industry and regulatory standards and the Bank’s risk appetite. Aid in reviewing and updating compliance monitoring procedures to drive continuous improvement.
- Lead compliance monitoring reviews as outlined in the plan, covering regulated activities. Prepare terms of reference, test controls, write reports, agree findings with stakeholders, and track issues to closure.
- Conduct quarterly customer outcomes testing as part of the Bank’s consumer duty requirements.
- Influence and guide internal stakeholders to ensure successful implementation of the compliance monitoring framework and resolution of issues.
- Support in evaluating the effectiveness of Compliance RCSAs and coordinate with Operational Risk for alignment.
- Collect and analyze compliance MI related to monitoring and regulation; provide insights to governance forums.
- Proactively develop knowledge of regulatory compliance and share best practices within the Risk Teams and across the bank.
- Support the business with timely regulatory advice and guidance, especially during projects and change initiatives.
- Assist in preparing MI reports and slides for the Legal and Regulatory Compliance Committee.
- Maintain Conflicts of Interest and Gifts and Entertainment Registers.
- Review compliance policies, standards, and procedures as needed.
- Provide regulatory training to internal stakeholders.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Proven experience in Compliance monitoring or Audit roles within financial services.
- Experience in Compliance Monitoring activities.
- Deep regulatory knowledge of FCA regulations affecting the Bank, including FCA Consumer Duty.
- Strong communication, organizational skills, and ability to present confidently with staff and management.
- Ability to investigate, analyze, and interpret MI.
- Effective issue management and stakeholder management skills.
