Salary: £44,000 per annum, Contract

Hours: Monday to Friday 9am-5pm (35hrs per week)

We are seeking a dedicated, competent, qualified and skilled Compliance Manager (Fire Lead) with a relevant, successful track record to join our team. To ensure continued compliance by contract managing our service providers and driving the clients’ strategic approach to oversee fire safety compliance across our corporate and school estate.

Role Overview:

The Compliance Manager (Fire Lead) will be the nominated Responsible Person for fire safety and will oversee the provision, management, and quality assurance of an end-to-end Fire Risk Management service. They will shape and oversee delivery of fire property compliance and asset management strategies, ensuring properties are safe, well-maintained, and compliant with all relevant legislative standards, including but not limited to the Regulatory Reform (Fire) Order 2005, the Building Safety Act 2022, the Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022, and the Client Fire Policy.

The successful candidate will manage risk assessments, develop fire safety policies, ensure legal compliance, collaborate with cross-functional teams, oversee maintenance programs, and maintain a safe environment for all.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prioritize and manage workload to meet or exceed KPIs and SLAs.
  • Lead fire safety compliance programs across all sites.
  • Review and maintain action logs for risk assessments and audits.
  • Develop and implement fire safety policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and standards.
  • Liaise with fire authorities, insurers, and auditors.
  • Provide fire safety training and advice to staff.
  • Investigate fire incidents and recommend corrective actions.
  • Stay updated on fire safety laws and best practices.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and facilities management.
  • Chair fire-related meetings and facilitate issue resolution.
  • Provide leadership in fire compliance management.
  • Build relationships for knowledge transfer and training.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Strong knowledge of relevant fire safety legislation and regulations.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in fire safety management or compliance roles, preferably in local authority or educational settings.
  • Qualifications in fire management, such as NEBOSH Fire Safety or IFE certifications.
  • Experience working with regulatory bodies and emergency services is advantageous.
  • Ability to develop and implement risk management strategies.
