Location: Worcester (WR5)

Hybrid: Yes

Salary: £44,000 per annum, Contract

Hours: Monday to Friday 9am-5pm (35hrs per week)

We are seeking a dedicated, competent, qualified and skilled Compliance Manager (Fire Lead) with a successful track record to join our team. The role involves ensuring continued compliance by managing contracts with service providers and overseeing fire safety compliance across our corporate and school estate.

Role Overview:

The Compliance Manager (Fire Lead) will be the nominated Responsible Person for fire safety, overseeing the Fire Risk Management service, and ensuring properties are safe, well-maintained, and compliant with relevant legislation including the Regulatory Reform (Fire) Order 2005, Building Safety Act 2022, Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022, and Client Fire Policy.

You will manage risk assessments, develop fire safety policies, ensure legal compliance, collaborate with teams, and oversee maintenance programs to maintain fire safety across the estate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prioritize and manage workload to meet or exceed client and contractor KPIs and SLAs.
  • Lead fire safety compliance programs across all sites.
  • Review and maintain logs for fire risk assessments and audits.
  • Develop and implement fire safety policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant fire safety legislation and standards.
  • Coordinate with fire authorities, insurers, and auditors.
  • Provide fire safety training and advice to staff.
  • Investigate fire incidents and recommend corrective actions.
  • Stay updated on fire safety laws and best practices.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and facilities teams.
  • Chair fire-related meetings and address issues.
  • Lead fire compliance management efforts.
  • Build relationships for knowledge transfer and training.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Strong knowledge of fire safety legislation including the Fire Safety Order 2005, Building Safety Act 2022, and Fire Safety Regulations 2022.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in fire safety management or compliance roles, preferably in local authority or educational settings.
  • Qualifications such as NEBOSH Fire Safety or IFE certifications.
  • Experience working with regulatory bodies and emergency services is advantageous.
  • Ability to develop risk management strategies.
