Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated, competent, qualified, and skilled Compliance Manager (Fire Lead) to join our team. The role involves ensuring continued compliance by managing service providers and overseeing fire safety compliance across our corporate and school estate.

Role Overview:

The Compliance Manager (Fire Lead) will be the nominated Responsible Person for fire safety. You will oversee fire risk management, shape and deliver fire property compliance and asset management strategies, and ensure properties are safe, well-maintained, and compliant with relevant legislation including the Regulatory Reform (Fire) Order 2005, Building Safety Act 2022, and Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022.

Your responsibilities include managing risk assessments, developing fire safety policies, ensuring legal compliance, collaborating with teams, overseeing maintenance programs, and maintaining a safe environment for all.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage fire safety compliance programs across all sites.
  • Review and maintain fire risk assessments and audits.
  • Develop and implement fire safety policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and standards.
  • Liaise with fire authorities, insurers, and auditors.
  • Train staff on fire safety practices and emergency procedures.
  • Investigate fire incidents and recommend corrective actions.
  • Stay updated on fire safety laws and best practices.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and facilities teams.
  • Lead fire compliance management and risk assessments.
  • Build relationships for knowledge transfer and training.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Strong knowledge of fire safety legislation and regulations.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in fire safety management or compliance, preferably in local authority or educational settings.
  • Qualifications such as NEBOSH Fire Safety, IFE certifications, or equivalent.
  • Experience with regulatory bodies and emergency services is advantageous.
  • Ability to develop risk management strategies.
