This pivotal role sits within the organisation’s Compliance Department, where you will play a key part in upholding legal, regulatory and ethical standards across the business.

Join a leading international financial institution with a strong reputation for integrity and excellence in compliance, where your expertise will directly influence business outcomes and regulatory adherence. Enjoy flexible working opportunities including remote work (2-3 days per week), flexitime, and the possibility of unpaid leave to help you balance your professional and personal commitments. Be part of a knowledgeable and dependable team that values collaboration, ongoing training opportunities, and supportive leadership focused on your growth and success.

What you'll do:

As Compliance Manager, you will be at the heart of ensuring that the organisation operates within the ever-evolving landscape of financial regulation. Your day-to-day responsibilities will see you collaborating with colleagues across departments to provide timely advisory support on complex compliance issues. You will play a crucial role in developing policies that reflect both UK-specific and group-wide standards while also supporting the delivery of training initiatives designed to heighten regulatory awareness.

  • Work closely with senior colleagues to deliver comprehensive compliance support, advice and assurance across multiple business functions within the UK branch.
  • Support the embedding of group-wide compliance and regulatory standards by contributing to policy development, implementation and ongoing review processes.
  • Provide expert input into the design and enhancement of regulatory risk management frameworks, ensuring robust practices are established and maintained.
  • Deliver clear technical advice and face-to-face training sessions to staff at all levels, promoting awareness of current and emerging regulatory requirements.
  • Take responsibility for delivering aspects of the Monitoring & Compliance Testing programme by reviewing controls, enhancing scripts, performing testing activities, reporting results, and advising on necessary improvements.
  • Collaborate with other compliance professionals to identify best practices, share knowledge across teams and regions, and drive consistency in approach.
  • Act as delegate for senior management when producing internal management information or regulatory reports for local regulators or head office.
  • Lead ad-hoc assignments related to regulatory governance or risk management as required by evolving business needs or external developments.
  • Review financial promotion or marketing materials to ensure clarity, fairness and full compliance with both internal policies and external regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels—including policy writers, trainers, risk managers and legal advisors—to provide support on compliance matters.

What you bring:

To excel as Compliance Manager in this setting, you will bring proven experience from similar roles within international banks—ideally covering advisory work across wealth management or capital markets. Your deep understanding of UK financial regulations (FCA/PRA) alongside EU directives ensures you can navigate complex rulebooks confidently.

  • Demonstrated track record of at least five years’ experience providing compliance advisory services within an international banking environment.
  • In-depth understanding of one or more areas such as Wealth Management, Capital Markets or Corporate Banking gained through hands-on experience.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of FCA and PRA handbooks along with familiarity with relevant EU laws (including MiFID, MAR, PSD, SMCR and COCON).
  • Proven ability to oversee robust monitoring programmes—designing controls, conducting tests and reporting findings effectively.
  • Strong analytical skills enabling you to assess complex compliance issues from a risk management perspective while considering broader business impacts.
  • Excellent communication skills allowing you to articulate intricate regulatory matters clearly at all organisational levels—both internally and externally—with empathy and tact.
  • Experience resolving conflicts constructively while maintaining positive relationships with colleagues across different functions.
  • A collaborative mindset combined with the ability to work independently when required; always prioritising teamwork over individual achievement.
  • Well-organised approach with self-motivation; able to manage multiple priorities efficiently without compromising attention to detail or accuracy.
  • Forward-thinking attitude focused on process improvement; practical problem-solving abilities that contribute positively towards team objectives.
