  • Must have relevant previous work experience in Product Governance.

Job Description

This is a second line of defence compliance role within the Advisory Team. It will focus on driving the development and continuous improvement of SquareTrade Ltd, SquareTrade Europe Ltd, SquareTrade Europe BV Ltd (collectively referred to as SquareTrade) against relevant regulations such as FCA, MFSA and FSMA.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the delivery of the Product Oversight and Governance (POG) framework, and continually review, develop and enhance the framework.
  • Assist the business in meeting the requirements of Product Oversight and Governance processes to ensure systems and controls demonstrate compliance with UK and EU product requirements throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Support the Senior Manager in monitoring fair value on an ongoing basis through the POG and products lifecycle.
  • Schedule, coordinate and attend the POG committee meetings; deliver POG documentation in a timely manner; ensure agreed actions are completed and maintain appropriate records.
  • Support Conduct Risk management by monitoring MI to identify concerns and work with the business to implement controls to mitigate risks.
  • Provide advice and training to the business on Product Oversight and Consumer Duty.
  • Lead delivery of the Consumer Duty monthly Forum, including coordination of MI.
  • Support the Senior Manager in delivering the quarterly Consumer Duty Committee, guiding 1st line to update required content and ensuring compliance with FCA requirements.
  • Help drive good conduct to deliver the best outcomes for customers/policyholders.
  • Provide the Senior Manager with guidance on launches.
  • Become the operations compliance expert supporting change initiatives, conducting relevant monitoring and advising the business.
  • Support the Senior Manager in ensuring Operations teams drive a compliant culture.
  • Provide compliance review and sign-off of relevant Operations training materials.
  • Support the business by providing guidance and advice when relevant.
  • Maintain good working relationships with the wider Compliance team and provide reporting/updates as needed.
  • Keep abreast of all relevant regulatory and legal requirements concerning the Compliance Advisory function.
  • Support the Senior Manager with other key Compliance delivery tasks across the business.

  • Preferably Degree Educated; ACII qualified. Regulatory qualifications in a relevant sector are an advantage (or working toward them).
  • Good demonstrable understanding of the UK/EEA Insurance Sector; regulatory knowledge FCA and ideally FSMA, MFSA, NBB.
  • Experience in Product Governance, Consumer Duty and regulatory change within a Financial Services FCA regulated business providing or distributing products to retail consumers (insurance sector experience preferred).
