The Compliance Manager will take responsibility for the day-to-day compliance & management ensuring the law firm's regulatory obligations and their professional and practice standards remain compliant at all times. Ideally have previous compliance & risk management experience gained within the legal sector and knowledgeable on COLP (3 Years Solicitor PQE), COFA and AML along with other relevant, legal financial and data protection legislation and frameworks. Proficient at identifying and managing potential risks, putting timely, workable solutions in place and making recommendations for continuous improvement.
As the Compliance manager, you will:
- Be the go-to advisor for colleagues seeking guidance on compliance matters.
- Act as a key contact for data protection and AML queries, ensuring compliance with the AML regulations.
- Support and help deliver tailored training on data protection and anti-money laundering to new starters and existing staff.
- Maintain and regularly review compliance policies and procedures, ensuring timely updates and effective rollout.
- Manage and respond to data subject requests.
- Assist in investigating data breaches and preparing detailed reports, including liaison with the ICO when necessary.
- Monitor new and emerging regulatory requirements and proactively implement changes to remain ahead of the curve.
- Contribute to compliance aspects of internal projects (e.g., IT developments) to ensure risks are managed effectively.
- Support a culture of compliance through engaging communication and awareness initiatives.
- Record, analyse, and report on compliance failures to help drive continuous improvement.
- Attend management meetings to present findings to management team.
- Lead audits and reviews to ensure compliance across all departments and divisions, implementing corrective actions where needed.

Experience & Qualifications:
- Previous experience working in risk and compliance, ideally within a legal environment
- Demonstrable knowledge of regulatory frameworks and how to implement them
- Experience drafting and reviewing policies and procedures
- Solid administrative and IT skills (including Word and Excel)
