Job summary

Fullers Foods is seeking a Compliance Manager to oversee supplier compliance, audits and governance across an assigned supplier portfolio. You will coordinate supplier audits, support retailer compliance reviews and drive corrective actions to ensure high standards across the product lifecycle.

You will work with Technical, Specifications, NPD, Commercial and Supply Chain teams to embed supplier requirements and provide guidance on compliance risks.

  • Act as a key compliance contact for assigned suppliers, building effective working relationships and maintaining clear expectations around required standards.
  • Coordinate and conduct supplier audits, compliance visits and assessments in accordance with agreed audit programmes and business requirements.
  • Support retailer compliance reviews and customer audit activity, ensuring appropriate preparation, evidence and follow-up.
  • Monitor supplier audit performance, non-conformances and corrective actions, ensuring actions are completed accurately and within agreed timescales.

Purpose

To manage supplier compliance, audit and governance requirements across an assigned supplier portfolio, ensuring suppliers consistently meet customer, legal and Fullers Foods standards.

The role is responsible for monitoring supplier compliance and audit performance, coordinating and conducting supplier audits and visits, managing corrective actions and proactively identifying compliance risks. Working closely with suppliers and internal teams, the Compliance Manager ensures issues are resolved effectively, accurate compliance information is maintained and high standards are consistently delivered.

Responsibilities
  • Manage supplier compliance and audit requirements across an assigned supplier portfolio, ensuring compliance with customer, legal and Fullers Foods standards.
  • Act as a key compliance contact for assigned suppliers, building effective working relationships and maintaining clear expectations around required standards.
  • Coordinate and conduct supplier audits, compliance visits and assessments in accordance with agreed audit programmes and business requirements.
  • Support retailer compliance reviews and customer audit activity, ensuring appropriate preparation, evidence and follow-up.
  • Monitor supplier audit performance, non-conformances and corrective actions, ensuring actions are completed accurately and within agreed timescales.
  • Review supplier corrective action plans, challenging where necessary to ensure root causes are appropriately addressed and actions provide sustainable resolution.
  • Actively assist the suppliers in preparation for customer approval and maintenance audits to ensure they achieve acceptable results.
  • Identify supplier and compliance risks proactively, taking appropriate action and escalating significant or emerging risks to the Senior Compliance Manager.
  • Investigate supplier compliance failures and issues, supporting effective root cause analysis and implementation of corrective and preventative actions.
  • Support the response to supplier incidents, audit failures, regulatory issues and customer escalations as required.
  • Maintain accurate supplier approval, audit, certification and compliance records, ensuring information is complete, current and accessible.
  • Monitor supplier certification and approval status, proactively addressing upcoming expirations, gaps or changes in compliance status.
  • Work closely with Technical, Specifications, NPD, Commercial and Supply Chain teams to ensure supplier compliance requirements are understood and embedded throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Provide compliance advice and support to internal teams, helping colleagues understand supplier standards, audit requirements and associated risks.
  • Compile, monitor and report compliance and supplier performance data, identifying trends, risks and areas requiring improvement.
  • Apply compliance policies, processes, governance frameworks and audit standards consistently across assigned suppliers.
  • Support the implementation of new or changing customer, regulatory and certification requirements across the supplier base.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives designed to strengthen supplier compliance, audit performance, processes and ways of working.
  • Maintain awareness of emerging regulatory, retailer and industry requirements relevant to supplier compliance and raise potential impacts appropriately.
  • Undertake other reasonable duties consistent with the nature and level of the role to support the wider Technical & Compliance function.
