Job summary

Bruin is seeking a Regulatory Policy Specialist to help ensure compliance with evolving FCA requirements and governance across policy. You will monitor developments, translate changes into actionable business needs, and support horizon scanning.

The successful candidate will have 5+ years in regulatory policy or compliance within financial services, with excellent stakeholder management and strong analytical abilities to guide policy interpretation and governance processes.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years in regulatory policy, regulatory reporting, or compliance functions.
• Experience within insurance or financial services.
• Experience drafting and maintaining compliance policies and governance documents.
• Good understanding of insurance distribution and emerging regulatory risks.

Responsibilities

• Monitor FCA regulatory developments and conduct horizon scanning.
• Translate regulatory changes into clear, practical business requirements.
• Identify policy, framework, and process gaps and support remediation activities.
• Produce regulatory interpretation papers and maintain audit trails.
• Coordinate annual and ad hoc updates to compliance policies and procedures.
• Manage stakeholder contributions, version control, documentation standards, and governance review cycles.
• Review and enhance compliance policies for clarity, consistency, completeness and regulatory alignment.
• Act as a key contact for regulatory and policy interpretation queries.
• Support regulatory engagement activities, including coordination and completion of regulatory returns.

This position will play a key role in ensuring the business remains aligned with evolving regulatory expectations, with a particular focus on FCA developments, regulatory policy interpretation, horizon scanning, and internal policy governance.

• Acting as a key point of contact for regulatory and policy interpretation queries.
• Supporting regulatory engagement activities, including the coordination and completion of regulatory returns.

Candidate Profile

• Strong knowledge of FCA regulatory requirements relevant to insurance intermediaries.
• Minimum five years' experience within regulatory policy, regulatory reporting, or compliance functions, ideally within insurance or financial services.
• Experience drafting, reviewing, and maintaining compliance policies and governance documentation.
• Good understanding of insurance distribution, wholesale broking environments, and emerging regulatory risks.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into practical business guidance.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across multiple business areas
