Job description

Lutine Bell are currently supporting a Global Insurer looking to appoint a Compliance Manager reporting directly into the Head of Compliance.

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the maintenance of the company’s compliance obligations universe.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of compliance strategy and the annual compliance plan.
  • Contribute to the horizon scanning and monitoring of regulatory developments and support the communication and reporting to stakeholders and governance committees and update of the obligation universe.
  • Lead the identification and assessment of compliance risks of the company and support the development of appropriate mitigation strategies.
  • Lead the evaluation of the design and operational effectiveness of processes and controls relevant to maintaining compliance with obligations.
  • Support the ongoing evolution of mitigation strategies and the development and enhancement of processes and controls relevant to maintaining compliance with obligations.
  • Contribute to compliance deep dive and thematic reviews to identify risks and areas for improvement with respect to meeting compliance obligations. Provide recommendations for the remediation of issues and oversee completion.
  • Maintain the company’s customer complaints handling procedures and oversee their effective implementation.
  • Provide independent review and response of customer complaints and manage the escalation of customer complaints to the Financial Ombudsman Service.

Requirements:

  • At least 4 years’ work experience of compliance related work in general insurance market.
  • Bachelor's degree or above.
  • Good understanding of compliance oversight methods and principles.
  • Good understanding of UK insurance regulation by the PRA and FCA.
  • Good stakeholder and relationship management skills.

Location: London (hybrid working)

Salary: up to £85,000 (plus bonus & benefits)
