The purpose of this role is to support Musgrave NI in the financial and reputation protection of the business. The role is to determine the suitability of suppliers, manage DAP supplier engagement and facilitation, to trade in line with all Windsor Framework legislation requirements including HMRC and Revenue requirements for the sale of goods both inside and outside of Northern Ireland jurisdictions and to ensure that proper policies, procedures, and records are carried out within the business to demonstrate appropriate processes and deliver the strategy of Growing good Business.

Role Scope

Responsible for the management of Windsor Framework legislative compliance and support the provision of related revenue, and duty compliance within Musgrave NI.

What you’ll be Doing

Area of Responsibility: Process

  • All compliance aspects of legislative requirements for Musgrave NI – Distribution, Retail Partners and acquisitions.
  • Working with relevant external consultants and Musgrave Group Functions to design, implement and evolve the required HMRC procedures to ensure full compliance with Windsor Framework legislative requirements.
  • Ensure that the designed policy and procedures are updated for any changes to legislation. Expert support from Group and external consultants will be available where required.
  • Engage externally with TSS, Shipping Solutions and Suppliers on completion of required documentation and due diligence to comply with HMRC Tariff process. Maintain and update these records on an on-going basis.
  • Engage internally with Trading Team, Supply Chain, Warehouse Operations and Finance on completion of required documentation and due diligence to comply with HMRC Tariff process. Maintain and update these records on an on-going basis.
  • Using knowledge to provide appropriate input to the decision-making processes in the business for the Trading function and suppliers.
  • Ensure all provision/transactions on-going are compliant with the designed procedures.
  • Liaise with internal and external auditors as required.
  • Support Finance Dept. to ensure all other legal and statutory compliance requirements are met as required.

  • Manage Compliance Support Assistants
  • Work with the Trading Team and wider business in all aspects of Windsor Framework compliance by providing clear direction, standardized processes, and regular reviews to manage all levels of compliance.
  • Demonstrate the Musgrave leadership skills and values holding self and others accountable for meeting and exceeding objectives.
  • Maximise the potential of team members to encourage and sponsor talent to ensure succession within the branch and across the Group
  • Ongoing training and development of colleagues in relation to compliance
  • Communicate clearly and positively; to engage all colleagues and to ensure they understand their role in relation to compliance with all HMRC regulations

What we’re looking for

  • Business related diploma or degree in a Business, Supply Chain, or audit related discipline
  • Experience in dealing with FMCG Compliance in a wholesale/retail environment
  • Logical, thorough, and tenacious in approach to work with excellent attention to detail
  • Solid organisation and multi-tasking skills
  • A proven ability to impact and influence colleagues at all levels
  • Ability to analyse, decipher and report on data in a concise and timely manner.
  • A passion for driving standards and achieving targets.
  • Excellent written and communication skills with strong report writing skills.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft office suite
