Job Description:

J&K Coaches Ltd are seeking a dedicated and proactive Transport Compliance & Depot Manager to join our growing team based in Moneymore, Co. Londonderry. You will be responsible for ensuring our transport operations meet the highest standards of legal compliance and safety. J&K Coaches are one of the fastest-growing transport companies in the North of Ireland.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Transport Manager: You will take ownership of the responsibilities associated with this role.
  2. Compliance: Ensuring full compliance with all relevant transport regulations and legislation and employee compliance.
  3. Fleet Management: Oversee our fleet of vehicles, ensuring they are well-maintained, meet legal requirements, and are scheduled for regular servicing and inspections.
  4. Auditing & Documentation: Conduct regular audits of drivers' hours, tachographs, maintenance records, and vehicle inspections, ensuring full traceability and compliance with statutory requirements.
  5. Training & Development: Provide training to our drivers and operational staff on transport regulations, safety standards, and best practices to improve compliance and reduce risk.
  6. Driver Management: Monitor our drivers' performance to ensure compliance with working time regulations and safe driving practices. Address all non-compliance issues and implement corrective actions where necessary.
  7. Reporting & Analysis: Continually analyse our transport operations to identify areas for improvement and ensure continual compliance, providing monthly reports to our senior management team.
  8. Health & Safety: Promote a strong culture of health and safety, ensuring that our transport operations are carried out safely and in accordance with legal requirements and best practices.
  9. Liaison with Authorities: Act as a point of contact for regulatory inspections or other audits related to our transport operations.

What We’re Looking For:

  1. Qualifications: A Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) in Transport Management is essential.
  2. Experience: Proven experience in Transport Compliance, preferably within the bus and coach industry.
  3. Regulatory Knowledge: A strong understanding of UK and EU transport regulations and legislation, including driver hours, tachographs, vehicle inspections, and safety standards.
  4. Skills: Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and complex compliance issues.
  5. Communication: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to train and motivate teams and liaise with regulatory authorities.
  6. Leadership: Experience in managing a team, with the ability to mentor, coach, and develop staff.
