About the role

  • In this newly created role, you'll be crucial in managing the firm's financial crime risk compliance, promoting quality, fostering the right culture, and safeguarding the firm. Supporting management with implementing, reviewing, and assessing the effectiveness of controls related to financial crime risk.
  • Compliance Catalyst is a Moody's Risk Database tool adopted by Forvis Mazars Group (Orbis database) for the client due diligence and client onboarding process purposes.
  • You'll use the Compliance Catalyst tool to approve clients as part of the firm's client acceptance and continuance processes, whilst assisting client teams in maintaining high standards and embedding quality in our firm's practices.
  • Collaborating and communicating effectively to influence stakeholders at all levels, whilst raising awareness and building a culture of compliance across Partners and all staff.


Client Acceptance and Continuance

  • Take ownership of the Compliance Catalyst tool and the entire end to end system process, including providing technical expertise and addressing business queries related to the tool.
  • Act as a liaison with the Group to seek assistance for any technical queries or issues related to the Compliance Catalyst tool.
  • Review client risk assessments and alerts (PEPs/adverse media) in Compliance Catalyst to confirm appropriate CDD documentation is attached and reach out to client teams for any missing information/documents.
  • Assist client teams and junior compliance team members with client acceptance and continuance queries, ensuring consistent application of CDD / AML policies and Compliance Catalyst process.
  • Act as an SME in applying the CDD policy and a risk-based approach in accordance with the 2017 AML regulations when reviewing adverse media alerts, Politically Exposed People (“PEP”) alerts, and other KYC information on the Compliance Catalyst tool.
  • Review and advise on various financial crime matters, including AML issues related to Customer Due Diligence (CDD), and draft summaries on clients' risks within the Compliance Catalyst tool.
  • Participate in the Client Due Diligence process for onboarding, periodic reviews, and trigger event reviews. Analyse KYC information and documents, and contact client teams to complete CDD requirements, as required.
  • Coordinate with the Client Engagement Centre (a separate team dealing with obtaining the client due diligence documentation as part of the client's onboarding process) on client onboarding queries related to PEPs and adverse media alerts on the Compliance Catalyst tool. Respond to AML and CDD queries related to Compliance Catalyst CDD tool, including alerts, system issues, checks, summaries.
  • If required, to perform/assist with Politically Exposed Person (PEP) reviews for client teams.


What are we looking for?

  • Strong working knowledge of the UK Money Laundering Regime
  • Highly motivated and self-sufficient with a drive to continue developing subject matter knowledge
  • Strong communication skills – ability to communicate complex scenarios simply, clearly and briefly
  • Analytical and interpretation skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Good time management and organisational skills, and able to work on their own and within a team context as well as to tight deadlines.
  • Strong IT skills with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
