Job description

Benenden Health has exciting opportunities within its Governance and Assurance team for a Compliance Assurance Officer.

This role will provide second line assurance that the regulated businesses are complying with FCA/PRA obligations, with a specific focus on the Consumer Duty, and will drive improvements with the first line to deliver good consumer outcomes and enhance customer experiences.

The postholder will:

• Carry out risk-based second line assurance activities, including:
• Delivery of the Compliance Monitoring Plan
• Providing feedback to the first line on the Consumer Duty Management Pack
• Contributing to the annual Board Consumer Duty report
• Act as the primary contact for all Consumer Duty matters.
• Identify, address, and take appropriate actions on Consumer Duty issues to ensure positive customer outcomes.
• Support reporting to relevant Executive and Board Committees.
• Assist in reviewing compliance policies and processes.
• Support the review and approval of financial promotions.
• Represent the Compliance team on new product development projects.
• Drive continuous improvement to enhance regulatory and customer outcomes.
• Maintain current regulatory knowledge and best practices.

Requirements include skills and experience in:

• Financial Services compliance, preferably within the insurance sector.
• Strong communication skills for relationship building at all levels.
• Investigation skills with persistence to identify root causes.
• Attention to detail and ability to summarize findings in reports.
• Data analysis, root cause analysis, and sharing insights with management.
• Detailed understanding of the FCA handbook.

The Benenden Health office is based in York. While there is an option for remote work, this role requires weekly attendance at the office on a hybrid basis.
