Job summary

CRU International is seeking a Compliance Analyst to strengthen our global compliance function, focusing on commercial contracts, copyright, IP, and data licensing. You will work with multi-location teams to implement practical compliance processes in a fast-paced international environment.

The role involves contract reviews, policy development, and supporting risk mitigation across CRU’s subscription and licensing activities, ensuring alignment with legal standards and business objectives.

Qualifications

  • Degree or equivalent qualification, ideally an LLB or GDL.
  • Professional compliance certifications.
  • Experience in contract review, audits, and policy development.
  • Strong understanding of copyright, trademarks, IP protections, and commercial contracts.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and mitigate compliance risk across contract lifecycle.
  • Review, advise on negotiations for commercial agreements with IP and data use focus.
  • Monitor contract breaches with Global Head of Compliance & Legal Services.
  • Maintain contract templates, pushback clauses, and approval thresholds for efficiency.
  • Manage contract repository and track renewals, terminations, and expiries.
  • Improve sales contract processes for consistency and compliance.
  • Support copyright, trademark, and IP compliance across the business.
  • Oversee subscription portfolio and licence tracking; identify copyright risks.
  • Educate teams on copyright risk, attribution practices, and permitted content use.
  • Review internal controls, conduct audits, and implement enhancements for regulatory alignment.
  • Prepare compliance reports for the Global Risk and Compliance Committee.

About the role

CRU International is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Compliance Analyst to strengthen our global compliance function. This pivotal role will help safeguard CRU’s integrity, reputation, and intellectual assets by providing expert support on commercial contracts, copyright, intellectual property, and data licensing. Working closely with colleagues across the business, you will drive practical, effective compliance processes in a fast-paced international environment.

  • At least 3 years’ experience in a compliance or contracts role, or within a regulated environment.
  • Demonstrable experience in contract review, audits, and developing compliance policies and procedures.
  • Strong understanding of copyright, trademarks, intellectual property protections, and commercial contracts.
  • Excellent analytical and critical-thinking skills, with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Experience working independently across multi-location and cross-cultural teams.
  • A results-driven approach and continuous-improvement mindset.
  • Collaborative, approachable stakeholder-management skills.
  • Commercial awareness and the ability to align compliance activity with wider business objectives.

Job Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with Sales and internal stakeholders to identify and mitigate compliance risk throughout the contract management lifecycle.
  • Review, advise on, and support negotiations for commercial agreements, renewals, and amendments, with a focus on licensing, intellectual property, copyright, and data use.
  • Monitor and address contract breaches in coordination with the Global Head of Compliance & Legal Services.
  • Maintain and enhance contract templates, standard pushback clauses, and approval thresholds to support efficient self-service for lower-risk agreements.
  • Manage the contract repository, ensuring accurate records and tracking key renewal, termination, and expiry dates.
  • Improve sales contract processes to promote efficiency, consistency, and compliance.
  • Support global copyright, trademark, and intellectual property compliance, ensuring content and data use align with applicable laws and internal standards.
  • Oversee CRU’s subscription portfolio, including in-house subscriptions and licence tracking, and identify potential copyright risks.
  • Investigate suspected copyright infringements and escales enforcement actions where appropriate.
  • Educate Consulting, Product, and Marketing teams on copyright risk, attribution practices, and permitted content use.
  • Review internal controls, conduct audits, and implement enhancements to support regulatory alignment and operational effectiveness.
  • Prepare and present compliance reports for the Global Risk and Compliance Committee, outlining key issues and recommendations.
  • Monitor legal and regulatory developments relating to copyright, trademarks, and data licensing, advising on relevant policy updates.
