Reporting To: Carrie Coles

Compensation: £28,700 - £32,700 / year

Description
No day will be the same - here are some of the highlights

We have an exciting opportunity for a proactive, data driven Compliance Analyst to join our growing team. You’ll play a key role in ensuring the business meets its regulatory, governance, and compliance obligations.

This dynamic role spans energy regulation, information and operational governance, quality assurance, and second-line assurance activity. You’ll work closely with teams across the business, using BI tools and data-led insight to provide assurance, identify risks, and drive continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Quality Assurance & Frameworks: Carry out regular quality and compliance reviews across operations (including telephony, email, customer journeys, and higher-risk regulated processes) to ensure alignment with policies and regulations, while supporting the development and maintenance of QA frameworks aligned with Good Energy's risk operating model.
  • Compliance & Second-Line Testing: Conduct second line-of-defence testing across the business to support ongoing compliance with regulatory and legal obligations, including relevant supply licence conditions, industry codes, and internal policy requirements.
  • BI Dashboards & Data Integrity: Develop, maintain, and use BI tools (such as Power BI) to build dashboards and data exception reporting that clearly visualise compliance metrics, KPIs, trends, data integrity issues, and areas requiring further review.
  • Performance Improvement & Process Mapping: Measure performance, document current and future process flows to support risk identification and control design, and recommend practical improvements to processes, controls, reporting, training, and colleague guidance.
  • Control Validation & Innovation: Design and deliver enduring, proportionate control validation checks, leveraging automation and AI where appropriate, to identify non-compliance, control weaknesses, and improvement opportunities.
  • Stakeholder Communication & Reporting: Communicate findings clearly to stakeholders, including control failures, non-compliances, trends, root causes, and recommended corrective actions, while assisting with internal investigations through data gathering, analysis, evidence review, and reporting.
  • Regulatory Coordination & Data Protection: Support the coordination of Requests for Information (RFIs) and regular external reporting requirements alongside internal data stewards, and assist with data protection compliance (breach investigations, Data Protection Impact Assessments, and general enquiries).
What you'll need to succeed

We’re seeking an analytical, collaborative individual who can build strong working relationships across the business while delivering independent second-line oversight. You can turn complex data, risks, and findings into clear, straightforward recommendations that drive practical improvements.

You’ll be comfortable using BI tools such as Power BI to track metrics, spot trends, and uncover control gaps with a curious mind for how automation and AI can streamline testing. Motivated and comfortable working under your own initiative, you’ll take the lead on embedding robust governance and compliance practices, supported by a collaborative team.

Essentials
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present findings, recommendations, and guidance clearly to varied audiences.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify, analyse, and explain data quality, process, and compliance issues.
  • Proven experience in quality assurance, control testing, compliance monitoring, data analysis, or assurance activity.
  • Sound understanding of BI tools (such as Power BI) and experience with data exception reporting.
  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across operational and support teams.
  • Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and adapt to shifting business needs.
  • A genuine interest in regulation, compliance, risk management, and continuous improvement.
Desirables
  • Experience working in a risk, compliance, quality assurance, or second-line assurance function supporting a range of disciplines.
  • Knowledge of Ofgem supply licence conditions, relevant law, and industry code agreements for energy supply.
  • Awareness or experience of working within a Three Lines of Defence framework, particularly in a second-line capacity to provide assurance over risk management and control effectiveness.
  • Understanding of data protection regulations, including UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
  • Experience in process analysis or process design to understand risks and inform control design.
  • Previous experience working in the energy sector or a similarly regulated environment.
