Role overview
We are seeking a fast-thinking, proactive individual to provide support to the Compliance Business Partner in ensuring that the businesses comply with relevant regulation, legislation, and industry best practice. The role will include providing support, guidance, and challenge to the business in respect of regulatory compliance.
As a Compliance Advisor, you will provide compliance support in relation to compliance with the Financial Conduct Authority’s (FCA) rules and guidance, Data Protection/privacy legislation and guidance, Financial Ombudsman Service guidance, and AML/financial crime prevention legislation.
Key Accountabilities
- Support the Compliance Business Partner in delivering regulatory news, publications, or guidance where there is impact to the business and help identify any business gaps and issues to ensure emerging risks are managed.
- Review financial promotions and customer-facing communications for compliance with applicable rules and guidance and provide comprehensive and constructive feedback.
- Provide comprehensive, pragmatic advice on business-as-usual activities and change initiatives across the entire customer journey.
- Assist with the preparation of information, documents, and reporting for meetings, forums, and committees.
- Assist in the co-ordination and gathering of regulatory reporting information as and when required, ensuring accuracy and consistency before submission to the regulator.
- Assist with regulatory inquiries including any associated reporting and administration.
- Assist with the review and update to regulatory authorisations, permissions, and licences.
- Conduct risk-based thematic reviews on high-risk areas. Analyse findings and make recommendations to improve controls and processes, mitigate risks, and support good customer outcomes. Clear detailed reporting required.
- Ensure risk events are managed to a satisfactory conclusion and updates and actions are correctly recorded on the Magique system. Where a regulatory breach is identified, escalate to ensure timely assessment can be made.
- Promote a compliance culture by proactively identifying and addressing compliance risks, raising awareness of compliance matters, and encouraging adherence to applicable laws and regulations.
- Work proactively and effectively with all members of the team and build and maintain effective relationships with all company colleagues.
Skills And Experience
- At least two years’ experience in a financial services Compliance role, with a thorough and detailed understanding of FCA regulatory requirements in relation to the sale and administration of general insurance and pure protection products is desirable.
- Excellent knowledge of Data Protection legislation, associated requirements, and current developments.
- Good knowledge of AML/financial crime matters.
