Our customer, an innovative legal tech company, is seeking two experienced lawyers to support the development of cutting-edge contract analysis tools. The company, currently with approximately 100 employees, is building AI-driven products designed to help legal teams edit complex contracts and understand the downstream impact of those changes. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of legal technology support for transactional lawyers.

About the Role:

You will collaborate closely with the product team to develop legal intelligence features, focusing on identifying interdependencies and structural impacts within long-form contracts. Your insights will help evaluate existing tools and contribute to the evolution of an AI-first contract editing platform.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze complex contracts (e.g., credit agreements, SPAs) to identify and map interdependencies between clauses, definitions, schedules, etc.
• Work with product managers and developers to refine cause-effect features, such as understanding the impact of changing a specific clause.
• Provide legal insights on how modifications to clauses affect the overall structure and intent of contracts.
• Evaluate outputs from the current product features and give feedback on their accuracy and completeness.
• Assist in designing innovative tools for contract editing and risk assessment.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• 5–6 years PQE, preferably from a top-tier law firm or in-house legal team.
• Senior Associate level with experience managing deals alongside partners.
• Strong background in corporate and finance law, including M&A, lending, and credit facilities.
• Ability to understand and explain the effects of structural changes in contracts.
• Curious, proactive, and interested in legal tech innovations.
• Comfortable working in ambiguity and in collaborative, non-hierarchical environments.
• Experience working with sample/test contracts to inform product development.
• Bonus: Knowledge of IP law is a plus but not essential.

Work Structure & Flexibility:

• Remote, project-based work with flexible hours.
• Open to hourly billing or other engagement models based on mutual agreement.
• Initial focus on evaluating existing product functionality, with potential for ongoing collaboration.
