Job Description:

Are you a student nurse, doctor, paramedic etc or newly qualified and want a chance to experience complex medical care including central lines etc? Do you enjoy new challenges including learning new skills? - If so, please keep reading and apply!

I am a young lady living in Earlsheaton, Dewsbury with complex medical conditions requiring skilled and dedicated care assistants. Despite my challenges, I enjoy life to the fullest!

If you work for me, you will assist with daily tasks like washing, dressing, meal prep, and more advanced procedures such as JEJ tubes, injections, syringe drivers, and IV line care (training provided). You will also chat, participate in hobbies like baking, knitting, fused glass making, and more.

While I need significant help, I value independence. You will be trained and guided in all tasks. There will be downtime when I sleep or relax, and you may also be asked to engage in activities like watching TV or chatting.

You will join a wider team of PAs, gaining new skills and hobbies from me, such as knitting, glass-making, and baking, which you can sample!

This role is highly varied, providing 1:1 support to make a real difference.

Pay & Shifts:
  • Pay is £13/hr, increasing to £13.50 after training, with annual raises.
  • Shifts are scheduled via rota, with paid breaks. Rota is prepared one month in advance; holiday requests require one month’s notice.
  • Main shift times: Night Shift 10pm-10am
  • You will work 3 shifts per week (36 hrs), with options for extra shifts, especially during holiday cover.

Positions available: 3 nights/week; other role: 1-2 shifts/week (days & nights)

Additional info: Statutory holiday entitlement, NEST pension scheme (optional), start ASAP.

Candidate Profile:

Seeking a motivated, organized, outgoing, and friendly individual with excellent English communication skills. Good conversation, sense of humor, active listening, and similar interests are valued. Flexibility, reliability, respectfulness, and a driver’s license are preferred.

Requirements:
  • Minimum 6 months care experience
  • Experience with complex tasks (JEJ, PEG, Injections)
  • Female (due to personal care duties)

Training is mandatory, and availability for training days is required.
