This is a long-term role starting as soon as possible with a view to becoming a permanent position. Our client school is Ofsted rated 'good' and boasts excellent facilities including hydrotherapy rooms, sensory rooms and an extensive outdoor space.
This SEND school caters for students between the ages of 3 - 19 years with a wide range of Complex Needs including associated medical needs and challenging behaviours. All pupils have a statement of educational needs and an Education Health Care Plan.
This Complex Needs Support Assistant role will involve providing specialised support to SEND children in the classroom as well as at lunch and break times. This role is vital in enhancing the quality of life for children by promoting independence and active participation in the classroom.
You will be required to assist with personal care while maintaining the pupil's dignity. You will work closely with the class teacher supporting the children across various activities, whilst providing a happy and safe learning environment.
This welcoming Special School boasts outstanding facilities and caters for pupils aged 3 to 19 with a wide variety of SEND including complex medical needs, Profound & Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), Autism and Speech Language & Communication Needs (SLCN). Experience and understanding of a range of SEND is necessary and knowledge of skills such as alternative communication techniques and manual handling would be beneficial.
Alongside the staff you will be responsible for safeguarding and protecting the welfare of children and young people.
