Qualifications

Job Title: Complex Needs Teaching Assistant
Location: Lowestoft
Hourly Rate: £13.68 - £14.90
Contract: Monday – Friday (0830 – 1530)
Start Date: September 2025

A rewarding opportunity has arisen for a Complex Needs Teaching Assistant to join a dedicated team supporting students with a wide range of additional needs, including Autism, ADHD, physical disabilities, and social, emotional, and mental health challenges.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support tailored to individual needs
- Assist with personal care and mobility as required
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment
- Support pupils in accessing the curriculum through differentiated activities
- Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and external agencies
- Contribute to individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour support strategies

Ideal Candidate:
- Experience working with children or young adults with complex needs (in education, care, or support settings)
- Knowledge of Makaton, PECS, or sensory integration approaches is advantageous
- Calm, patient, and flexible approach with strong communication skills
- Team player with a proactive and empathetic attitude
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, CACHE, Health & Social Care) are desirable but not essential
