Job summary

GSL Education is seeking a Complex Needs Teaching Assistant to work across specialist SEN schools in the Lincoln area. The role involves one-to-one and small-group support for children aged 2–19 with a range of SEND, from MLD to PMLD, initially on a supply basis with a view to permanence.

Ideal candidates will have a genuine passion for SEND, patience and empathy, and experience in specialist settings is desirable. DBS checks and safeguarding knowledge are required.

Qualifications

• Patient, empathetic and resilient.
• Experience in a specialist SEN or complex needs setting desirable.
• Ability to support pupils with varying levels of ability.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one and small-group support to pupils with complex needs.
• Assist pupils with learning, communication and personal development.
• Support pupils with MLD/SLD/PMLD as needed and adapt approaches.
• Assist with personal care where required (toileting, feeding, mobility).
• Encourage independence and develop physical, social and emotional skills.
• Support delivery of engaging and accessible learning activities.
• Work with teachers, therapists and other staff to create a safe, inclusive environment.
