Job summary

Engage Education is partnering with a welcoming specialist secondary setting in Bexhill to recruit a compassionate Complex Needs Teaching Assistant. You will support pupils with a range of additional needs, helping them access the curriculum and participate confidently in lessons.

The role is full-time, temp‑to‑perm, and starts immediately. You will work closely with teachers and the support team in a calm, inclusive environment designed to help every learner develop academically and emotionally.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SEND, including Autism or complex needs.
• Patient, resilient and nurturing approach.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Calm, adaptable and proactive in a dynamic school environment.
• Genuine passion for helping pupils reach their potential.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils across the school.
• Support students with Autism and related needs to access the curriculum.
• Assist with individual learning and behaviour support plans.
• Encourage emotional regulation, confidence and independence throughout the day.
• Build positive relationships with pupils and work with the wider team.
• Contribute to a safe, structured and inclusive learning environment.
