Job description

Prospero Teaching are looking for staff to support a Special Needs school in Burnley, Lancashire. The school caters for pupils ages 4-11 who have special educational needs, with some of those having needs that are profound, complex or challenging. Staff will need to have the ability to foster strong relationships with the children and to support them with their learning and development.

The Role will consist of:
  • Providing tailored support and working with children with SEN and complex needs.
  • Supporting the class teacher in creating a safe environment that allows children and other students to have fun, learn and make progress.
  • Academic support.
The Ideal candidate:
  • Experience of supporting pupils with SEN on a voluntary or paid basis OR experience of supporting those with complex needs in a care setting.
  • Driven, energetic and keen to pursue a career in education and special needs.
  • Has a strong commitment to teamwork and upholding the school's values.

POSITION: Special Needs Teaching Assistant

CONTRACT TYPE: Temporary – Permanent

HOURS: Full time Monday – Friday

START DATE: ASAP
