Job summary

Thrive Group's Thrive Education is recruiting for Complex Needs Assistants to support primary pupils with severe learning difficulties and complex autism. Within a supportive school, you will assist with communication, regulation, and engagement, under the guidance of teachers and therapists.

You will help children communicate (verbal and non-verbal), support emotional regulation, assist with personal care where needed, adapt activities to individual needs, and contribute to a safe, nurturing

About the Role

As a Complex Needs Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and therapists to support pupils with a wide range of needs. You will play a vital role in helping children to communicate, regulate their emotions, develop independence and engage in learning. This is a rewarding and hands-on role where no two days are the same:

• Support pupils’ communication, interaction and engagement


• Help pupils manage their emotions and behaviour in a calm, consistent way


• Assist with personal care where required


• Adapt activities to meet individual needs
