Overview

A Vacancy at Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust.

Children's Speech and Language Therapist - Band 5 - 37.5 hours - Fixed Term Post until 01/08/2026 (maternity cover).

There has never been a more exciting time to join the ISCAN (Integrated Service for Children with Additional Needs) team. We are moving forward in growing our service following some recent investment for our workforce and also to enhance our Local Offer. As a member of our team you will have the opportunity to be involved in the development of our new ISCAN website. In addition, the Trust are working with the team to develop some innovative approaches to redesign pathways with the goal of delivering improved care for our children and families across Tameside and Glossop.

Role and Team

Are you a qualified Speech & Language Therapist wanting to use your skills to work with children, young people and their families? Newly qualified therapists will be considered for this vacancy.

You will be working within our complex needs team supporting children with a range of communication difficulties in Tameside and Glossop (ages 0-19). The role provides an excellent opportunity to work alongside dedicated professionals within a multidisciplinary team providing a high quality, child-centred service.

We can offer clinical and management supervision, specialist support by experienced staff and continuing professional development.

Responsibilities

The job involves delivering speech and language therapy to children and young people with diverse needs within a multidisciplinary context. Specific duties include assessment, planning and delivering evidence-based interventions, contributing to pathway redesign, and supporting families and carers to achieve optimal outcomes.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Qualified Speech & Language Therapist (UK registration). Newly qualified therapists will be considered.

• Ability to work within a complex needs team and provide child-centered care for ages 0-19.
