Job description

Complex Care Support Worker

Person-Centred Care That Truly Changes Lives

Full UK Driving Licence Required

This is more than a care role — it’s an opportunity to make a genuine difference at the moments that matter most.

As a Complex Care Support Worker, you’ll provide compassionate, person-centred support that enables people with complex health needs to live safely, comfortably, and independently in their own homes, surrounded by the people and routines they know best.

You’ll step into both new and existing care packages, bringing reassurance, stability, and confidence to clients, families, and care teams. Every assignment is different, giving you the chance to use your skills, experience, and initiative to deliver outstanding care that is tailored to each individual.

If you’re adaptable, experienced, and passionate about helping people live life on their own terms, this could be the perfect role for you.

Why You’ll Love This Role
  • Make a visible and meaningful impact every single day
  • Deliver truly personalised care that puts people first
  • Enjoy variety — no two packages or clients are the same
  • Work independently while feeling fully supported by clinical and care teams
  • Be trusted to help stabilise and strengthen complex care packages
  • Develop your clinical skills through specialist complex care training

This is a rewarding role for someone who thrives on responsibility, compassion, and purpose.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll support individuals with complex health needs by:

  • Delivering high‑quality personal care and daily living support
  • Promoting independence, dignity, choice, and wellbeing
  • Following personalised care plans tailored to each client’s needs and goals
  • Providing reassurance and continuity for families and loved ones
  • Supporting existing care teams and modelling best practice
  • Communicating effectively with Care Managers and clinical professionals
  • Assisting with medication, equipment, and care supplies where required

Specialist Clinical Training Included

You’ll receive training in a range of complex care interventions, including:

  • Tracheostomy care, suction, and tube changes
  • Blood glucose monitoring (BGM)
  • Cough assist and nebulisers
  • Injections and insulin administration
  • Enteral feeding and medication
  • Invasive and non‑invasive ventilation
  • Oral suction and oxygen administration
  • Catheter maintenance solutions
  • Neurogenic bowel management
  • Clinical observations
Flexibility That Works for You
  • Pay rate up to £15 per hour
  • Zero‑hours contract initially, with contracted hours discussed after 3 successful months
  • Various 12‑hour day and night shifts available
  • Ad hoc assignments depending on service needs
  • Live‑out shifts available, with accommodation provided where travel is not practical
  • Some unsociable hours may be required

This role will mainly cover packages across Tyne and Wear, although occasional travel outside the area may be required. Where same‑day travel is unreasonable, accommodation will be provided.

Ideal for someone who enjoys flexibility, variety, and the opportunity to work in different environments while delivering exceptional care.

What We’re Looking For
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Previous experience in complex care
  • Confidence working independently and using initiative
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Calm, compassionate, and professional approach
  • Commitment to delivering person‑centred care
  • Level 2 Health & Social Care qualification (or above) desirable

If you’re ready to use your skills to help people live safer, fuller, and more independent lives at home, we’d love to hear from you.
