Job summary

Cornerstone is looking for compassionate Complex Care Practitioners to support eight individuals in their own homes in Scotland. Roles involve flexible shifts including early mornings, evenings, weekends and sleepovers, with full training and ongoing support available.

You will help people to live independently, participate in activities, and manage daily living tasks while working as part of #TeamBaxterView. Training academy and progression opportunities are provided.

Meet the people you’ll support

We support people with a range of needs, including acquired brain injuries, to live as independently as possible.

One lady we support loves being out and about — whether that’s shopping, coffee, dinner or heading to her clubs. She’s sociable, kind, funny and loves a bit of banter with her team. She also enjoys having her hair and make-up done every day.

One of the gentlemen we support is a huge football fan. He loves following his team, going to matches, enjoying a pint and having a bet on the football. He likes keeping busy, getting out into the community and chatting to people along the way — and he always looks forward to a holiday!

One day you might be supporting someone to get out for a coffee, go shopping or attend their favourite club. Another day could involve helping someone manage their home, enjoy their hobbies, meet friends or head out to watch their football team.

No two people are the same — and no two days are the same.

Life skills count too

You’ll need to be comfortable working independently and, with the right training and support, be willing to develop your confidence in supporting people whose behaviour may sometimes be challenging.

We want individuals who are passionate about the people we support having the same opportunities, choices and experiences as everyone else.

Shift Patterns

We provide dedicated around the clock support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, so our shift patterns do involve early mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidays and sleepovers. We have a mixture of short and long shifts.

Successful candidates will be required to join the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme and be committed to working towards an SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare with the support from our Training Academy.
