Job Description:

Job Role: Support Worker

Service: Chapel and Crook 3L

Location: Winsford

About Chapel House: Nestled on Chapel Road, Chapel House, a former school building, offers a warm atmosphere with ten personalised bedrooms. The spacious lounge bustles with activity, and five bathrooms cater to various needs. Outdoors, a private garden with a versatile sensory room completes the setting. We offer nutritious home-cooked meals from our fully equipped kitchen, along with on-site laundry. Chapel House provides round-the-clock nursing care for people with acquired brain injuries, as a 3L service under We Change Lives. Our approach is person-centred, ensuring a high level of care tailored to our residents' needs.

About Crook: Crook is in Winsford, once a warehouse and community chapel, now a unique six-bed home for individuals with complex health needs and disabilities, including acquired brain injuries, as a 3L service under We Change Lives. Accessible via a wheelchair-friendly ramp, it boasts a spacious lounge, dining area, and a private garden with a summer house. Personalisation is encouraged in the six light and well-furnished bedrooms. Our fully equipped kitchen provides nutritious home-cooked meals, and on-site laundry simplifies daily life. Our approach is entirely centered on the people we support.

A Day in the Life of a Support Worker: As a Support Worker, no two days are alike - much like the diverse individuals we support. Our approach revolves around person-centered planning, tailoring our services to suit the distinct requirements of each person we support. We are deeply committed to working towards positive outcomes for every individual, celebrating even the smallest milestones on their journey to personal growth. As a Support Worker, you'll be equipped with comprehensive training to provide a wide range of assistance, including personal care, behavioural support, fostering independence and confidence, and nurturing positive relationships through effective communication. You will be supporting people with learning disabilities and complex care needs.

Employee Benefits:

As a charity, we do what we can to show our teams that we value them and the life-changing work they do, so we offer the following:

  • Welcome Bonus: You'll receive £500 as a warm welcome to the team. Not eligible if we pay to sponsor you to work in the UK
  • Training and Development: We offer access to both in-house and accredited courses. We will cover the cost of your qualification, and on completing Level 2 or above, you'll receive a £150 bonus (with an additional £50 for passing the care certificate).
  • Blue Light Card and other discount schemes: We cover the cost of your card, unlocking various discounts for you. Enjoy discounts on childcare, shopping, and a wide range of online training courses.
  • Free Meals: Available to all staff working 12-hour shifts, ensuring you stay energized with a hot or cold meal.
  • Refer a Friend: You can earn a £200 bonus for referring a friend who successfully joins WCL.
  • Christmas Enhancement (Double Time): Enjoy double-time pay for allocated Christmas hours worked.
  • Ongoing Technological Advancements: Benefit from our investment in new technology, including care plans and Rota apps, with full training provided.
  • Get Paid As You Earn: With FlexEarn, you don't have to wait for payday. WCL gives you access to a portion of your earnings as soon as you've worked the hours. It's a great way to stay on top of your finances, cover unexpected costs, or just have a bit more flexibility with your money.

What We're Looking For: Although previous experience would be great, it's not essential, as all training and qualifications are provided on the job! We seek caring individuals who align with our vision and values. You'll advocate for our residents, making a meaningful impact on their lives. Our commitment to innovation, valuing every team member, and creating a supportive work atmosphere defines us. If you're passionate about changing lives, you'll thrive with us.
