£27,061 to £29,696 (pro rata) per annum depending on experience.

At Rowcroft Hospice, we provide compassionate, holistic care to people, with life limiting illnesses, and those closest to them.

We are now seeking a dedicated and empathetic Complementary Therapist to join our supportive multidisciplinary team and help us enhance the wellbeing of those we care for.

What you'll bring

To be successful in this role you will be an experienced therapist with a recognised qualification in Massage plus another therapy such as Aromatherapy, Reflexology or Reiki. You need to be insured and registered with an appropriate professional body. Experience in working with vulnerable or palliative care patients is desirable. Excellent communication skills and a compassionate calm touch. The ability to drive to visit patients in their own homes across Rowcrofts catchment area.You will need to be competent in IT skills and supportive of our volunteer network.

Job purpose: Our Vision is to make every daythe best day possible for patients, and those closest to them, living withlife-limiting illnesses in South Devon. As amember of our Complementary Therapy Team, you will deliver this by providingtherapeutic support in one-to-one and/or group sessions for patients, carersand bereaved people on site at Rowcroft and within the Rowcroft catchment area.

Key roles and responsibilities:

  • Tailor therapy assessment and treatment, withattention to patients individual needs and preferences. Spanning physical,emotional, social, and spiritual dimensions. Adapting therapy input as theircondition changes.
  • Organise and plan own caseload to meet service.Plan patient priorities and needs and maintain comprehensive records oftreatment.
  • Initiate effective communication within thecomplementary therapy team and the wider multidisciplinary team, plus externalagencies as appropriate.
  • Promote a culture of continuous learning &development and wellbeing. Identify your own learning and development needs andensure your mandatory and essential training is up to date. Undertakecontinuous professional development and clinical supervision where appropriate.Help to create an environment that is continually questioning practice andpromoting learning.
  • Play an active part promoting, encouraging, andsupporting our team volunteers.

InfectionPrevention

All Rowcroft Hospice employees, in both clinicaland non-clinical roles, are required to adhere to theInfection Preventionand Control Policies and make every effort to maintain highstandards of infection control at all times to reduce the burden ofHealthcare Associated Infections including MRSA.

Youagree to the following responsibilities:

  • To decontaminate your hands prior to and afterdirect patient care or contact with the patient's surroundings.
  • To take part in mandatory infection controltraining provided.
  • To responsibly manage your own infections (otherthan common colds and illness) that may be transmittable to patients, includingto contact Occupational Health for guidance.

Placeof Work

Thisrole has been identified as a Field worker (role could be carriedout at a Rowcroft site or other locations). You will spend planned time atRowcroft site, or other locations as the role requires, which could includepatients homes and non-Rowcroft locations to meet the needs of the service.

Thiswill be fully discussed and agreed with the postholder to meet individual andbusiness needs.
