Job summary

Fractile is seeking an Engineering Manager for Compilers in London or Bristol, offering a hybrid, permanent role. You will build and lead a 10+ engineer compiler team targeting Fractile's AI accelerators, shaping the architecture from first principles and collaborating across hardware, runtime, and ML teams to drive performance.

This is a hands-on leadership role requiring deep compiler knowledge, a strong grasp of computer architecture, and a track record of delivering high-performance software

Qualifications

• Proven track record of leadership experience managing a high-performance development team and delivering consistently outstanding outcomes.
• Proven experience in compiler development, with experience of MLIR or TVM being a significant advantage.
• Up-to-date knowledge of machine learning techniques and technologies.
• A good understanding of computer architecture and performance optimisation techniques.
• Excellent C/C++ skills and solid experience with industry standard development tools and technologies.
• A creative and innovative mindset, and a willingness to take ownership and drive results in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow a 10+ person compiler team.
• Define the architecture and compiler stack for our AI accelerator.
• Collaborate closely with hardware, kernel, runtime and ML teams across the stack.
• Make architecture decisions from first principles, balancing ambiguity with clear calls.
• Drive end-to-end model runs on Fractile silicon and prove out lowering strategies.
• Hire and develop great engineers to build a world-class compiler team.
