You will bring CompEx experience and a strong background in electrical/control engineering, with a time-served apprenticeship and full UK driving license. Excellent progression and benefits are offered.

- Experience producing detailed inspection reports.
- Competent in cable installation, glanding and termination.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings.
- Travel willingness across UK and Europe.
Responsibilities
- Conduct ATEX/CompEx inspections in accordance with IEC/BS EN standards.
- Identify, document and report non-compliances and safety risks.
- Produce detailed inspection reports and handover documentation.
- Carry out electrical rectification works to industry standards.
- Support shutdown projects and instrumentation installations.
- Install containment, cable systems, glands and terminations.
- Work from electrical drawings and area classification reports.
- Ensure compliance with BS EN 60079 regulations.
- Collaborate with customers and internal teams to improve site safety.
- Deliver projects efficiently and within agreed timescales.

Work Lyf Group are delighted to be recruiting for an ATEX / CompEx Electrical Inspector & Technician on behalf of our client, a leading provider of calibration, electrical, control and instrumentation services with over 50 years of industry expertise. The successful candidate will join the Field Service Team, carrying out ATEX inspections, electrical rectification work and instrumentation installations across a range of sectors including aerospace, food & beverage, chemical, pharmaceutical, oil & gas and manufacturing.
This is a fully field-based position involving regular travel throughout the UK and Europe, including overnight stays when required.
Salary up to 55,000 depending on experience and qualifications

You will be a time-served apprentice with a background in Electrical, Instrumentation or Control Engineering and possess strong experience working within hazardous areas.
- Proven experience conducting ATEX/CompEx inspections
- Strong knowledge of BS EN (phone number removed) & BS EN (phone number removed)
- Experience producing detailed inspection reports
- Competent in cable installation, glanding and termination
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings
- Strong Microsoft 365, SharePoint and Excel skills
- Previous field service experience
- Willingness to travel extensively throughout the UK and Europe
- Excellent communication and customer-facing skills
- C&G 2391, 2391-52 or 2394 & 2395 Inspection & Testing
- JIB Gold Card (or higher)
- Recognised Electrical Apprenticeship or equivalent qualification
- CompEx EX01-04 (EX05-06 desirable)
- Valid Safety Passport (CCNSG/JIB or equivalent)
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Self-motivated and able to work independently
- Strong attention to detail
