Job summary

Wirral University Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Health Care Assistant for Ward 24. The role focuses on delivering high standards of patient care with patient safety at the forefront.

The successful candidate will have previous care experience and ideally hold a Level 2 Health & Social Care qualification, with the ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team and handle clerical duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Previous care experience is essential.
• Level 2 Health & Social Care qualification or GCSE equivalent may be required.
• Experience in NHS environment is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Registered Nurse in administering direct patient care.
• Communicate clearly with patients, carers, relatives and the multidisciplinary team.
• Record communications on Wirral Millennium and monitor patient comfort and safety.
• Prioritise own workload.
• Inform qualified staff of changes in a patient's condition.
• Escort and chaperone patients as appropriate.
• Undertake ordering of supplies within stock levels.
• Maintain equipment cleanliness and availability.
