Job summary

Real Life Options in Portlethen is seeking a caring Support Worker to provide direct support to individuals in their homes and local community. The role involves helping people gain independence and take part in activities they enjoy.

This flexible, part-time position includes a rolling rota with early, late, weekend and some night shifts; full training is provided, and you may work across several homes in Portlethen and surrounding Aberdeenshire.

Qualifications

• A caring and proactive attitude.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Confidence in lone working situations.
• Willingness to engage in physical activity, including walking and swimming.

Responsibilities

• Support individuals within their own homes and communities.
• Help with day-to-day and social activities: volunteering, local groups, leisure.
• Assist with weekly shopping, meal prep and housekeeping.
• Help with appointments and travel to visit family/friends.
• Support personal care and hygiene, and moving/handling as needed.
• Encourage budgeting and money management.
• Accompany individuals on community outings and maintain social connections.
