Job summary

Avery Healthcare Group is seeking a Sous Chef for Avon Valley Care Home in Kingswood, Bristol. You will assist the Head Chef to lead a culinary team delivering nutritionally balanced, high-quality meals within budget, and supervise staff to maintain hygiene and compliance with food-safety standards.

You must have catering qualifications and at least 1 year of experience, with a compassionate approach to delivering excellent resident dining experiences.

Qualifications

• Have a relevant catering qualification (City & Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 or NVQ or equivalent).
• Minimum of 1 year catering experience.
• Demonstrate compassion and commitment to high-quality culinary services.

Responsibilities

• Support the Head Chef in leading a culinary team within budget.
• Prepare modified diets that look appealing and balanced per IDDSI guidance.
• Supervise and direct culinary staff and train unqualified staff on basic food prep.
• Ensure high hygiene standards and safe food handling.
