Job summary

Supply Heroes are recruiting on behalf of a supportive and inclusive school in Birmingham for an SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from September.

This role offers the chance to support pupils with a range of SEN, helping them access learning and build confidence in a nurturing environment. You will work with the class teacher and SENCO to tailor activities and promote wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Previous experience supporting children with SEN is essential.
• Experience in a primary school setting is desirable.
• Patient, caring and resilient approach.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to support pupils with a range of additional needs.
• Flexible, reliable and enthusiastic.
• Enhanced DBS on update service preferred or willing to obtain one.
• Right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEN.
• Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons.
• Adapt learning activities to meet individual pupil needs.
• Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
• Work collaboratively with the class teacher, SENCO and wider school team.
