Job summary

The Cambian Group is seeking compassionate residential care workers to support children and young people in our care. You will build strong relationships in a warm, supportive environment, plan engaging activities, provide one-on-one support, and accompany young people on off-site trips.

New staff must be comfortable using an electronic care recording system (Clearcare experience is a plus). Sleep-ins are a key part of the role, with £30 per sleep-in and a standard two-week paid training period.

Qualifications

• Minimum age requirement: 21 years old.
• Full UK driving licence preferable but not essential.
• No prior experience necessary, only a commitment and passion for working with young people.
• Must have availability for sleep-in shifts.
• Enhanced DBS checked.
• Comprehensive induction and training provided.
• Rota provided 4 weeks in advance.

Responsibilities

• Providing emotional support during challenging times.
• Fostering ambition in young people and helping them achieve goals.
• Supporting educational pursuits of young people.
• Maintaining accurate records and preparing written reports for meetings.
• Empowering young people to participate in decision-making about their lives.
• Acting as an advocate in meetings involving the young person.
• Encouraging community engagement and attending off-site activities.
• Meeting the needs of children and young people, including home duties such as laundry, cooking, cleaning, shopping.
