Job summary

Encompass is seeking a Relief Personal Assistant/Support Worker to assist a lady in Jedburgh on a relief/occasional basis. The role focuses on emotional support, community engagement, and helping maintain independence within the home and local area.

The candidate should be kind, empathetic, reliable and flexible, able to work one-to-one in the client’s home and as part of a small team. Shifts are offered with notice as needed.

Responsibilities

• Offer emotional and psychological support through friendly conversation and companionship.
• Encourage and support the client to access the local community and take part in activities she enjoys.
• Build a positive and trusting relationship to help promote confidence and wellbeing.
• Provide gentle encouragement and reassurance when needed.
• Support the client with maintaining her home.
• Assist with meal preparation.
• Support with making appointments where required.
• Work flexibly alongside the existing support team to provide consistent and person-centred support.
